Waste Management

PLEASE DO NOT PUT FOOD WASTE IN THE TRASH BIN – it is a municipal waste rule as it creates too much trash, as well as wild and domestic animals open the bags and cause sanitary issues. We separate food scraps from other non recyclable trash and recycling.
This dome is equipped with a medium sized trash bin. When this bin is full, please take the trash to the blue bins at the entrance of the property and place them in the bag inside the bin.
The dome is also equipped with a food scrap container with a lid. When this container is full, the decomposing scraps can be placed in the large compost pile by the blue trash bins at the entrance. There is a dirt pile to the side which should be used to place a layer on the food scraps and a layer of leaves to stop wild animals from entering and help the decomposition process.
This dome is also equipped with a plastic bottle that can be filled into an ecobrick. These eco-bricks are then used for later construction projects. Please make sure to follow the eco-brick guide and only put the correct items: plastic bags, plastic wrappers, plastic straws, plastic cutlery, plastic fruit and vegetable packaging (clean and dry) https://www.ecobricks.org/how/
Recycling (plastic bottles and containers, tin cans, cans, and glass bottles) needs to be washed and collected in the blue bin near the parking lot.
