Our Philosophy

man.grove

noun man·grove | \ ˈman-ˌgrōv, ˈmaŋ-\

Mangroves are survivors. Even in harsh environments, mangrove trees plant roots to help stabilize and restore the soil; their seeds germinate while still attached to the parent tree.

The Mangrove Way

The “pay it forward” model is the foundation of theMangrove Society. Just as Mangrove treesthemselves send out roots from the mother plant and grow simultaneously in new places, we believe in communities growing from within and thensharing their knowledge to branch out, making their own community stronger and those around the world with which they are connected.

As the age-old saying goes, “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”, we believe that by teaching communities how to learn and develop sustainability, they will reap benefits that will last beyond a lifetime.
